THIRD ANNUAL “A NIGHT TO REMEMBER” ROLLS OUT RED CARPET THIS FRIDAY

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — On Friday, nearly 170 special needs teens and adults will begin “A Night to Remember” at the Marriott in Cranberry Woods with a stroll down the red carpet at 6 p.m.

This is the third year Discovery Christian Church has organized this unique event for folks between in ages of 16-40.

“We really couldn’t be more excited about how this even has grown,” said Bryan Gratton, pastor of Adult Ministries at Discovery. “This is the time for these amazing teens and adults to have their moment to shine in the spotlight! All of the year-long planning and organizing our team does, always makes this a worthwhile event,” Gratton continued.

Every guest who attends “A Night to Remember” receives free formal wear, pre-dance primping from Paul Mitchell Academy, dinner and a take-home gift bag. “The last thing we want are finances to be a restriction for these folks,” said Gratton. “We designed a whole evening that is completely care free, so all they have to do is show up and party. And honestly, we couldn’t have done this without the support of the business community who donated so much to this event,” he said.

Also helping to pull off the event are nearly 300 volunteers. Some of the volunteers help with things such as parking and registration, while others sign up as buddies for the guests. The buddy’s job is simply to make sure that the guests are having fun. “It’s a great opportunity for our guests and buddies to make new friendships,” said Gratton. “Anyone who has ever been a buddy has told us what an amazing experience this has been.”

The red carpet begins at 6 p.m. and dancing lasts until 10:30 p.m. If you plan on attending the red carpet event, please arrive 20-30 minutes early to allow for parking and getting to the red carpet before start time.

This year’s main sponsors for “A Night to Remember” are Discovery Christian Church, Diehl Automotive, TrueSense Marketing, RBC Wealth Management, George Financial, Fed Ex Ground, Brady’s Run Veterinary Hospital and Hovis Auto and Truck Supply.

“I hope the message of this event reaches beyond the families who were impacted personally, because it’s a lesson in humanity for all individuals. And, hopefully everyone there learned something about themselves and each other.” –Parent of “A Night to Remember” guest.
