SAM BROOKS ANNOUNCES DEBUT EP RELEASE SEPT 11

PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Connellsville native crooner, Sam Brooks, hits Pittsburgh’s live music scene with the release of his debut self-titled EP at Club Cafe on Friday, September 11 on the Southside. Doors open at 6 pm. Sam’s debut EP was produced by local producer and recording artist Bryan Cole, engineered by Douglas Kasper and mastered by Eric Conn (Garth Brooks) of Independent Mastering, Nashville TN.  Check out www.sam-brooks.com to hear a preview. Check out www.sam-brooks.comto hear a preview.Sam’s debut EP features a mix of classic jazz and contemporary music. The album has a minor, sultry feel, utilizing elements from swing music, jazz fusion, and classic crooning. It features selections from the American Songbook as well as a fresh take on a Leonard Cohen tune. Sam’s voice harkens back to the great crooners of the big band era and creates a unique dichotomy with the smooth jazz grooves beneath him. With a Master’s degree in vocal performance from New York University and an adjunct faculty position, a Bachelor’s degree in professional music from Berklee College of Music, and a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University, saying Sam has diverse interests is putting it lightly. It is his wide range of interests that allows Sam the versatility to bridge the gap between classic jazz music and pop. After four years performing in New York City, Sam returned home to Southwestern PA to begin the Sammy Brooks Band in 2012.For more information, interviews and promotional copies of the CD, call 724.366.6538 or email sambrooksjams@gmail.com.
