FRATERNITY BROTHERS AND WVU ALUMNI PARTNER
TO PROVIDE TOYS TO KIDS IN PITTSBURGH

PITTSBURGH, PA
(PittsburghNewsWire.com) — West Virginia University alumni and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity brothers Christopher Edmonds and Frank Walker, who is principal in of Frank Walker Law and is a Criminal Defense Attorney in Pittsburgh, together donated funds to Toys for Kids located in the Mon Valley Area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Edmonds is the president and founder of Athletic Trauma Unit (#ATU), a nonprofit health and fitness company that provides free, family-oriented fitness training programs in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. According to Edmonds, “the mission of the Athletic Trauma Unit is to remove all financial barriers, such as expensive gym memberships and personal trainer fees, so that the community can become more dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle through exercise and nutrition.”

This is the second year for the annual toy drive that benefits families who need assistance in the Pittsburgh area. “The donations will be distributed in three Christmas parties that we sponsor for families who have been identified by their local community centers as having a financial need,” said Edmonds. “Attorney Walker’s generous donation from his law firm will help purchase numerous gifts for the young kids in the community and we are thankful for his support and contribution.”

According to Attorney Walker, the decision to support the toy drive was easy. “I am thankful to be in a position to give back to the community and I’m proud to do so through the organization of my friend, fellow WVU Alum and Omega brother Chris,” said Walker. “The #ATU is changing lives on a daily basis and this toy drive will do the same for so many children from various families this Christmas.”

There are three scheduled toy drives. The first one was held in the North Braddock Cares Winter Festival on December 6, while two more drives are scheduled later this month. On Thursday, December 17, the toy drives will be held at Rankin Palisades Youth Program from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Rankin Christian Center, and the last one will be on Wednesday, December 23, for the Rankin Christian Center After School Program from 4-6 p.m. at 230 3rd Ave., Rankin, PA.
