KICKLINE DANCE CENTER CELEBRATES RECORD YEAR COLLECTION
FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL OF PITTSBURGH OF UPMC

PETERS TWP, PA
(PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Kickline Dance Center (Kickline), a locally owned dance studio serving Peters Township and the surrounding communities, is proud to announce it will be making a charitable contribution in the amount $3,226 to the Free Care Fund at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC which provides care to all children in the community regardless of financial situation.

Cynthia Phillips, owner of Kickline, along with her students Madison Saxe, Nina Dorfner, Grace Collins and Zoe Weinzenwill, will be presenting a check at the 62nd Annual Free Care Fund Benefit Show presented by KDKA on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at 4:10 p.m. Live television coverage will begin during the news broadcast at 4 p.m. and the live one-hour Benefit Show will air from 7 to 8 p.m. on KDKA-TV. KDKA AM will broadcast from 3 to 7 p.m. Tune in to hear stories of hope and courage told by Children’s Hospital patients and families and donate to the Free Care Fund to help children in the Pittsburgh community receive expert care.

“We are thrilled to be supporting the Free Care Fund and have contributed cumulatively over $24,446 since 2007,” said Phillips. “I couldn’t do this without the support of my extraordinary students and their families who help to make this effort an overwhelming success. This is not just about Kickline giving back, this is about “us” giving back as a team.  Our mission at Kickline goes beyond dance. I believe in teaching my students the importance of giving back to the community and each year all proceeds from our holiday show are donated to Children’s Hospital.”

“We are fortunate to have community partners like Kickline Dance Center who year after year fundraise on behalf of the Free Care Fund, which helps to ensure that every sick or injured child in our community gets the expert care they need,” said Brian Harman, Director, Corporate and Community Giving, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation.

Throughout the year, Phillips looks for additional ways to give back. Most recently, Phillips and Gia Grau, a Kickline student, spearheaded a project that supported Traveling Tutus and collected over 200 gently used dance costumes which were donated to underprivileged children around the world.
