MAYOR PEDUTO TO SPEAK AT SYRIAN SUMMIT


PITTSBURGH, PA
(PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The Pennsylvania National Association of Social Workers, Southwest Division, is sponsoring a Syrian Summit on Thursday, February 11, 2016 to be held at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, 116 S. Highland Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15206. The Summit will begin at 6pm and last approximately 1 hour.  The talk will feature Mayor Bill Peduto to discuss advocating for the allowance of Syrian refugees to gain entrance and housing in Pittsburgh.
Also in attendance will be a representative from the Pittsburgh Islamic Center.  Dr. Kevin Caridad, LCSW, PhD is the Southwest PA National Association of Social Workers Chair and Founder of the Cognitive Behavior Institute in Cranberry Twp and Mt. Lebanon, PA.  Dr. Caridad’s vision of The Summit is to shed a positive light and educate the public on opening Pittsburgh’s doors to Syrian refugees coming to America.
