Cynthia Phillips, owner of Kickline, along with her students, will be presenting 10-15 grants to winning applicants at their holiday recital that is taking place on Saturday, December 10 at Baldwin Whitehall High School Auditorium.
“I am very excited to rally my students and their parents around this worthy cause,” said Phillips. “This is a great opportunity to support our local schools and I am thrilled to offer these grants to teachers in our community to help them ignite student learning in their classrooms.”
The grant program is open to teachers in grades K through 12th grades from public or private schools in the South Hills, Pittsburgh Region and surrounding communities. Teachers requesting grants must have a student of Kickline Dance Center in their classroom.
Applications will be reviewed on a competitive basis by committee and priority is given for requests that:
- Meet basic educational objectives;
- Promote literacy and/or the arts;
- Involve collaboration with students and/or parents and/or other classrooms/schools;
- and are sustainable.
Interested teachers can request an application by calling Kickline Dance Center at 724-941-9839.
This project is part of Kickline’s mission to give back to the community on a regular basis. Other organizations that Kickline supports include Traveling Tutus and Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh.
