PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — A brand new benefit concert will highlight some of Pittsburgh’s best female talent and the future of women’s health, with proceeds benefiting the Magee-Womens Research Institute. Women Who Rock will take place on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh, and will bring a new, one-of-a-kind event to Pittsburgh’s emerging and revitalized music scene, while helping to change the future for women and infants in Pittsburgh and around the world.

Women Who Rock will feature live performances from some of Pittsburgh’s best female musicians including Lyndsey Smith & Soul Distribution, Jill West and Blues Attack and The Hobbs Sisters. The evening will be emceed by Michele Michaels from 102.5 FM WDVE. The event will invite women to come together to celebrate our community, each other and to honor strong women of all paths and stages of life, while providing educational information on the future of women’s health and the ground-breaking research that’s happening at Magee-Womens Research Institute.

Magee-Womens Research Institute is the largest independent research institute in the U.S. focused solely on women’s and infants’ health research. More than 100 nationally recognized physician-scientists are engaged in groundbreaking research spanning diverse aspects of women’s health. Proceeds from Women Who Rock Pittsburgh will be used to support world class women’s and infants’ health research through Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation’s campaign and will be designated to the Board Strategic Direction Fund (Fund #23001) for the Board of Directors to provide resources as needed.

The event will be produced by Pitch Consulting in partnership with Magee-Womens Research Institute.
