NEXTIER BANK LAUNCHES BACK TO SCHOOL CAMPAIGN
BUTLER, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — NexTier Bank, N.A. (“NexTier”) today announced a call for entries for their “Sponsor-a-Teacher” essay contest. The contest is aimed at assisting local teachers with school supplies for their classrooms.
The essay contest is open to the public and includes local educators or anyone who wants to submit an essay in appreciation of a specific teacher. There will be a first, second, and third place winner. Although the winner may not be a teacher, the teacher specified on the entry form will receive the gift card. The essay asks them “If you were stranded on a deserted island with your students and can only bring three school supplies, what would you bring and why?” The contest will run from July 17th – August 11th. The winners will be announced on or about August 16th, 2017.
In addition to the essay contest, NexTier branches will be collecting school supplies from August 1st -August 31st. Our goal is to collect supplies to donate to local schools and help teachers and parents in the communities we serve. Many teachers find themselves spending their own funds to provide supplies and a positive learning environment for students, while parents are asked to do more every year.
“Children are our future and our educators are instrumental in providing a positive learning experience and developing a desire for life-long learning. We recognize that school district funding is limited and that many teachers end up providing the decorations and supplies that help create that environment out of their own pockets. As a community bank committed to improving the lives of those we serve, we are happy to provide any assistance we can for our children to have that positive learning experience. We are very excited about this essay contest and collecting supplies for our local schools. We would love to be overwhelmed with entries,” stated NexTier’s Chief Marketing Officer, Maria Smathers.
Entries will be accepted via www.nextierbank.com or paper entries are available at NexTier branch locations. Contest ends August 11th.
