PENN BREWERY CELEBRATES OKTOBERFEST 2017 SEPTEMBER 15TH-17TH AND 22ND-24TH WITH EXPANDED ENTERTAINMENT LIST AND NEW MENU OFFERINGS
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Penn Brewery is gearing up for Pittsburgh’s classic Oktoberfest with plans for an expanded list of live entertainers and new menu items.  This year’s Oktoberfest is scheduled for the weekends of September 15th-17th and 22nd- 24th at Penn Brewery’s North Side location.
“While each year we always keep the core elements of Oktoberfest that our guests love, we also try to add a few new changes each season to keep the event fresh,” said Sandy Cindrich, Penn’s President and CEO.
One Oktoberfest mainstay that will never change is plenty of Penn Oktoberfest beer on draft.  Penn will also offer several more of its classic beers, including Penn Pilsner and Penn Gold, among others. And with the addition of Penn’s new five-barrel brewing system earlier this year, guests will also be treated to one or more specialty small-batch brews as well.
New on the Oktoberfest tent menu this year will be Munich-style Fried Chicken with spicy honey, and Porchetta, chopped roast pork served with hot German potato salad and sauerkraut.  Those not counting calories will enjoy Mac‘n  Bier Cheese stuffed inside sourdough, served with or without bacon. (A complete menu is included below.)
This year’s Oktoberfest entertainment lineup includes perennial Penn favorites Autobahn, Kevin Solecki, and Madel Jager. Joining Penn O-Fest for the first time are Mon Valley Push, Northcoast Mix, and Aaron Dussing. This group of talented musicians will offer guests plenty of oompah, accordions, and horns.  (A detailed entertainment schedule is included below.)
Although Penn never charges a cover or requires an advance ticket purchase for admission to Oktoberfest, guests can opt to buy a VIP package on Friday and Saturday evenings to reserve seating and other perks at the event.  The Brewery has offered VIP packages for the past several years to enhance the guest experience, and they’ve been extremely popular.

Penn’s Oktoberfest celebration will run from 5:00 pm to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays (over 21 only after 8:00 pm), and noon to 10:00 pm on Sundays.  Oktoberfest events are cash only, except meals in the main dining room. No reservations will be taken for Fest days, and Penn Brewery will be closed on the Mondays following Oktoberfest weekends, September 18th and 25th.  Penn will also be open for lunch as usual from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays during Fest (a limited Fest menu only will be offered in the restaurant during Oktoberfest weekends.)

Penn’s Oktoberfest doesn’t end after the tents come down on September 25th,  however.  Guests can celebrate the German festival from September 15th through October 31st with Penn’s special Oktoberfest menu in the restaurant. Limited-time dishes, including Roasted Pork Shank and Baked Bavarian Apple & Onion soup, will be showcased.

For those planning their own Oktoberfest celebration this year, Penn can also cater private events. To submit a request, and for additional Oktoberfest details, visit pennbrew.com.
