EMMY AWARD-WINNING TELEVISION PERSONALITY DARIETH CHISOLM TO SPEAK AT PROVIDENCE CONNECTIONS ABOUT EVERYDAY COURAGE AND HOW TO COMBAT CYBER HARASSMENT
Cyber harassment has serious negative impacts on children, parents and families. The implications of and how to proactively take action against cyber harassment will be addressed during this session.
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Providence Connections, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families and enriching lives, is excited to announce that Darieth Chisolm, former NBC News Anchor, is speaking at Providence Connection’s “Families First Networking Series” about how to have courage and proactively combat cyber harassment. This event will be held on Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Providence Connections.
A recognized leader in Pittsburgh, Ms. Chisolm is a cyber harassment victim turned advocate and founder of 50 Shades of Silence: A Global Movement Giving a Voice and Dignity to Victims of Cyber Harassment and Online Crimes. Ms. Chisolm will share her experience as a victim of cyber harassment and will expose the impact of the cyber world, and the implications it has on parents, kids, personal and professional brands and the entire family unit.
Participants will engage in discussion about the impact of cyber bullying on their families and ways to conquer these ongoing challenges. There will also be opportunities for participants to network with other parents and peers who are faced with similar challenges.
“Our Families First Networking Series will be an ongoing opportunity for parents to discuss various struggles in the workplace, at home, and the importance of a strong family unit to conquer today’s ongoing challenges,” said Sheryl Johnson, Providence Connections Board Member. “I have been on the board at Providence for over four years now and I continue to be amazed at the programs that Providence provides, like this series, to empower parents and children to embrace the importance of a strong family unit.”
