PENN BREWERY’S PENN GOLD BRINGS HOME GOLD MEDAL
FROM 2018 WORLD BEER CUP® COMPETITION
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Penn Brewery is pleased to announce that its Penn Gold beer has won the gold medal in the Munich-style Helles category at the prestigious 2018 World Beer Cup® competition.  The win was announced at the 2018 Craft Brewers’ Conference in Nashville on May 3, 2018 and comes on the heels of Penn Gold winning the gold medal in the Helles category at the Great American Beer Festival® in October, 2017.

The competition at the World Beer Cup® was fierce this year, with 2,515 breweries from 66 countries around the world submitting a total of  8,234 beers for judging. Penn Gold won the gold medal from a field of 122 competitors in the Munich-style Helles category. The World Beer Cup® is widely considered to be the most prestigious beer competition in the world. Penn Brewery beers have won a total of four World Beer Cup® medals, as well as 17 medals from the Great American Beer Festival®, the sister competition to the World Beer Cup® focusing specifically on American beers.
Penn Gold is brewed with two-row barley malt and Perle hops.  With ABV of 4.5% and 20 IBUs, this beautiful golden beer is malty, sweet, and delicate. Penn Gold is available on draft and in 12-oz. bottles in six-packs and 12-packs.
