Jazz Camp held at The Afro-American Music Institute
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The AFRO-AMERICAN MUSIC INSTITUE AND AMERICAN’S MUSIC CROSSROAD will be hosting the Jazz &American Music Summer Camp August 8th – 20th 2011 at the AFRO- AMERICAN MUSIC INSTITUTE, 7131 Hamilton Avenue.
Some of Western Pennsylvania’s most musically talented youth (5th-12th grade) will have the opportunity to be trained by top national and local musicians. Classroom training will include Jazz Improvisation, Jazz History, Jazz Combo Rehearsal and vocal and instrumental ensemble.
Jazz masters providing instruction include living jazz legends. Legendary drummer Roger Humphries, Trumpet great, Duquesne University professor Sean Jones, Dr James Johnson Jr. founder /executive director of AAMI, Jessica Lee, Director of AMERICA’S MUSIC CROSSROADS CENTER and World renowned trombonist, Dr. Nelson Harrison and others.
