SEPT. 8TH DECLARED “NORM NARDINI DAY” BY MAYOR BILL PEDUTO IN PITTSBURGH AS NORM CELEBRATES 50 YEARS ALONG WITH THE S.P.U.D.S. AT SYRIA SHRINE PAVILION CONCERT   
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — In a Proclamation by The Mayor of Pittsburgh, Bill Peduto, September 8th has been declared “Norm Nardini Day” in Pittsburgh. The “uncrowned king” has been awarded a day in his honor and appreciation for his dedication to Rock and Roll in Pittsburgh.
This Award coincides with a concert being held to celebrate Norm’s 50 Years of playing Rock n’ Roll. Norm has been a Pittsburgh icon for many years as thousands have witnessed his homestyle rock and roll. His contribution as an ambassador of Pittsburgh has been felt worldwide and many with gather on September 8th at The Syria Shriner’s Pavilion to celebrate with him as he thanks Pittsburgh by jamming as only he can. The concert featuring Norm Nardini and his current bandmates will share the stage with “The S.P.U.D.S.”, a popular zany group of musicians, who since the 80’s have been playing original tunes with a twist of humor and hilarity.  Also, on tap, Bill Toms and Hard Rain accompanied by The Soulville Horns.
He will be presented his Proclamation Award during the show and will be another historic moment for this Pittsburgh Legend. The Syria Shrine Pavilion is located in Cheswick, PA at 1877 Shriners Way. Doors open at 2:30 PM at the Syria Shrine Pavilion with plenty of free parking. Tickets can be purchased online at www.moondog.us in advance for $12 or $14 at the gate. If you buy a ticket online you will automatically registered to win a Tiger guitar painted by the original artist and signed by Norman, which will be raffled off.
John Vento of  Pittsburgh’s Nieds Hotel Band noted; “He is the pioneer of rock and roll in Pittsburgh. His work ethic is unmatched in the city of Pittsburgh. You get the same Norman in front of a handful of people that you would get in front of 5,000 people”.
