NEW SMARTPHONE APP OPENS UP A WORLD OF URBAN INFORMATION
TheSoulPitt.com, announces a free smartphone application giving users 24/7 access
to urban information and events in the region.
Pittsburgh, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Smartphone users interested in keeping connected with Urban News and Entertainment in Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas can now find this information at their fingertips via a new Soul Pitt mobile application from Soul Pitt Media.
New data from the Pew Internet Project finds that 44% of Blacks and Latinos in the US are smartphone owners. A new Nielsen cell phone study found that minorities have a higher adoption rate for smartphones.
“Recent data shows that smart phones are the vehicle through which many in the African-American community access information. This is certainly true of many of our site visitors, magazine readers and radio show listeners. This new application ensures they will have access to Soul Pitt’s most recent postings at their fingertips,” said Soul Pitt Media Partners CEO Donna M. Baxter.
Terina Hicks, Soul Pitt Spiritual Coordinator & co-host of the Soul Pitt Xtra radio show says, “As technology evolves and people get their information in new ways, we will continue to develop ways to make it easy for consumers who use our media platforms. When something new gets posted in a particular section of our site, the mobile app will send the user a notification to their phone to alert them of this new update.”
Craig Dawson, VP of Sales & Marketing sees the app as added value for Soul Pitt’s many advertisers. “Those advertising on thesoulpitt.com’s main page or spiritual section will now have their advertisement easily accessible through our mobile app,” says Dawson.
The free mobile app can be installed from the android market on any smartphone or downloaded online at www.thesoulpitt.com website. An iPhone version of this app is currently under development. More info can also be found here: www.soulpittmedia.com/NewApp.html
