“PITTSBURGH’S LADY OF THE BLUES” MISS FREDDYE PLANS
“TRIBUTE TO ARETHA FRANKLIN” CONCERT

PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — On Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 at the popular venue Peppers N’At located in Braddock, PA, a tribute to the queen of soul, Aretha Franklin will be presented by some of Pittsburgh best singers and musician.

Aretha Franklin, who passed on August 18th, 2018 due to a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor, will be honored by “Musicians In Unity”, a group of Pittsburgh musicians organized by Singer Miss Freddye.

“Musicians In Unity” include vocalists, Tina Daniels, Nicole Belli Lysiak, Jeanie Loutsenhizer-Shook, Dawn Marie, guitarist Ian Arthurs, Steven Binsberger on keyboards, Jim Spears on bass guitar and Greg Mciltrot on drums as well as Miss Freddye herself.

The “Tribute to Aretha Franklin” will be held from 8:00 pm until 11:00 pm at “Peppers N’At” located at 28 Braddock Avenue in Braddock, PA. There is a $10 cover charge and will feature some of Aretha’s hits which have influenced the careers of many of the musicians performing at this event. “She was a big influence for me for gospel and soul. Glad I got to see her several times in this lifetime”, quoted Miss Freddye.

Most of these musicians have performed with each other on occasion and are well known for entertaining Pittsburgh area audiences for years. “I am so honored to be performing with such amazing musicians and friends. Really looking forward to it!”, said Dawn Marie, vocalist in the duet “Power of Two”.

Peppers N’At has become one of the Pittsburgh area’s well known food and music venues. Peppers N’At evolved out of Swissvale native Bob Portogallo’s love of cooking, which started with his giardiniera, a fresh-made relish now carried at Giant Eagle Market District stores and other venues.

The ripples of Aretha’s impact in music is still being felt and the “Musicians In Unity”, will sing and play to her legacy in this tribute but not without one of the most heartfelt feelings of all, “R-E-S-P-E-C-T”, one of Aretha’s most popular tunes of many she has given us.
