29TH ANNUAL KSEF SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS LUNCHEON
Saturday, June 1, 2019 at LeMont Restaurant
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The Kappa Scholarship Endowment Fund of Western PA (KSEF) will hold its 29th Annual KSEF Scholarship Awards Luncheon on Saturday, June 1, 2019. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at LeMont Restaurant, located at 1114 Grandview Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. In this annual luncheon, high-achieving minority high school seniors attending college from Western PA are provided with scholarships and financial awards. This year’s class of awardees will walk away with awards valued at well over $300,000.
KSEF was established as the philanthropic arm of the Pittsburgh Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. to offer scholarships and financial assistance to African American students at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Throughout its 29-year history, KSEF has provided over $2.8 million in academic scholarships and financial assistance to over 160 students from Western PA. Its success has resulted in strategic relationships with its collegiate partners, Community College of Allegheny County, Penn State University, and Robert Morris University, as well as its corporate partners, Dollar Bank, Gateway Health, Highmark, UPMC, and Parker Poe. KSEF also continues to work with NEED to better leverage its support to its talented college-bound students.
The keynote speaker for this year’s luncheon will be Rob Wilson. Mr. Wilson is a financial advisor, television contributor, and new media personality who concentrates his practice on providing advice to and managing the financial affairs for successful professional athletes, entertainers, and other young professionals. His work, providing advice and guidance to prominent young stars, has earned him the moniker “Hip Hop’s Financial Advisor.”
Mr. Wilson is a native Pittsburgher who graduated from Schenley High School and received an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business. He shares his advice as a frequent contributor to CNN, CBS, NBC, and Fox, and his appearances can be seen on his website, www.robwilson.tv. He recently launched his book, “Secure the Bag,” which is designed to help people create the life they desire by managing money like they mean it.
Mr. Wilson, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., spends his time as a mentor, mentee, speaker, author, and entrepreneur. He currently resides in Philadelphia and is happily married to his wife, Priscilla.
