CENTRAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH RECEIVES LANDMARK STATUS

TARENTUM, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The building that serves as home to the congregation of Central Presbyterian Church of Tarentum, located at 305 Allegheny Street, has received Historic Landmark status from the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation.  The present building was built in 1913, and designed by architect Harry Wimer from Butler, PA.  The founding of the congregation dates back to April of 1888, when a relatively small wood-frame chapel was built on the present site.

A brief ceremony will be held at the front entrance to the church on Allegheny Street at 5:00 PM, on Thursday, October 24th to commemorate this event.

The public is invited to attend, and a brief reception will follow the ceremony.

For more information, please call the church at (724) 224-9220.
