MCCAFFERY’S STRIP DISTRICT TERMINAL REDEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCES TENANTS
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — McCaffery is pleased to announce a number of tenants who have signed leases at the highly anticipated Strip District Terminal redevelopment. Three of the four leases signed are hometown tenants and include, City Grows, Fine Wine and Good Spirits as well as OnPar now. District Brew Yards, a highly regarded brewery, headquartered in Chicago, rounds out the roster of tenants being announced at present.
“The Terminal is one of the most exciting projects we have ever worked on.” said Dan McCaffery, CEO of McCaffery. “Despite the negative influence of the Covid pandemic, tenant and general public interest in the project has been extremely high. We continue negotiating with a significant number of tenants and the number is increasing every day. These exciting brands are a great complement to the local businesses and local experiences so treasured in the neighborhood. Stand by for more announcements soon.”
City Grows is a locally owned and operated urban organic garden and gift shop. It is currently located in Upper Lawrenceville and plans to open its second location in The Terminal in Q1, 2021. The shop will feature a wide range of indoor and outdoor gardening products as well as a unique selection of decorative plants, cut flowers and locally crafted gift items.
OnPar now, also locally owned, is a female-focused golf instruction and practice facility that will open in 5,094 square feet at the Strip District Terminal. While open to all genders, ‘OnPar now’ was created to offer a relaxed space for women, both new to the sport and those already skilled at it, to comfortably embrace golf lingo and etiquette, improve upon existing techniques, and take private lessons, ultimately honing skills to facilitate personal and business relationships. This first location will feature four industry-leading Trackman simulators, a 14’ x 23’ virtual putting green with underlying PuttView technology, and a sand trap, as well as a warm-up/exercise area and juice bar. OnPar now aims to inspire females to participate in the ageless, fun and healthy activity of golf!
Fine Wine & Good Spirits Premium Collection, has leased 9,654 square feet at The Terminal. Operated by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, it will be a “best-in-class” facility. Given the new residential communities springing up near the Strip District, it will serve as a convenient shopping option in this vibrant section of Pittsburgh. The new store anticipates opening in late Fall, 2020.
District Brew Yards will open an innovative brewery collective, pour-your-own beer hall and retail shop in 11,741 square feet at The Terminal. With a mission to bring independent Pittsburgh craft brewers together to collaboratively share knowledge and assets, Chicago-based District Brew Yards will maximize choice by presenting guests with a completely customizable beer experience featuring pour-your-own taps of hyper-local brews, as well as a delicious menu focused on smoked meats and creative sides.
McCaffery is the developer of two projects in the Strip District, the mixed-use Terminal and 1600 Smallman, a redeveloped office project. Both projects are expected to deliver by the end of 2020, transforming the five-block stretch of Smallman Street from 16th to 21st. While the Terminal has recently commenced leasing activities, 1600 Smallman has been chosen by a tech tenant as their newest office location. The Terminal and 1600 Smallman collectively offer a combined 165,000-square-feet of retail space. Contact Ross Modjeska for more details at leasing@mccafferyinc.com or (312) 784-2758.
ABOUT THE TERMINAL
Located in Pittsburgh’s bustling Strip District neighborhood, the iconic Terminal was formerly the central hub for the regional wholesale produce industry. Chicago-based developer, McCaffery, acquired the building from the Urban Redevelopment Authority and has restored the historic building’s energy and vitality. Offering approximately 160,000-square-feet of new retail and restaurant experiences, improved pedestrian access, and a hub for community events, the expansive structure is, once again, a commercial, people-centric destination.
