PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The Bach Choir of Pittsburgh is pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Fandrei as Executive Director. Mr. Fandrei, an alumnus of the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, and The Juilliard School, NYC, will commence his new position immediately and is responsible for the overall program management of the Choir.

“Graham’s background in the arts, coupled with his experience in corporate fundraising, grant writing and general program management, will ensure the Choir continues to thrive and grow for many years to come,” said Penelope Morel, President of the Board. “On behalf of the entire Board and Choir, I want to officially welcome Graham to the Bach Choir as our Executive Director.”

“I am thrilled that Graham has joined us as Executive Director,” said Thomas Douglas, Artistic Director of the Choir. “Not only does he have years of personal experience with choral music, but he is also savvy with opera and musical theater. We are very lucky to have him.”

Mr. Fandrei possesses a diverse skillset that includes overall program and business development, grant writing and research, as well as administrative planning. He was the Founder and Managing Director of the Magic City Opera in Miami, FL, and with a background in solo and choral musical performance, audiences can expect sporadic appearances from Mr. Fandrei on stage at the Choir’s upcoming concerts.

“It is truly an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to serve the community through the choral arts,” said Mr. Fandrei. “The Bach Choir of Pittsburgh is a hallowed institution in the region, and I look forward to working to help keep this great art front and center in the Pittsburgh cultural scene.”
