ATHLETES COMPETE FOR THE TITLE OF STEEL CITY’S STRONGEST WITH ICONIC PITTSBURGH THEMED EVENTS
The Steel City of Pittsburgh is host for the first time in History to a United States Strongman sanctioned Strongman/Strongwoman Competition

PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — For the first time in history, Pittsburgh, PA will be host to a United States Strongman (USS) sanctioned Strongman/Strongwoman Competition. 70 athletes from all over the United States will compete in various classes for the title of Steel City’s Strongest and an opportunity to qualify for the 2022 USS Nationals. In addition, the USS 50+ World Champion will be crowned at this inaugural event.

The event is being hosted by Pittsburgh’s Vaughn Sikorski, a top 10 in the World, Masters Pro Strongman and USS 50+ National Champion who was born, raised and resides in this beautiful city. “I am so eager to bring this action packed contest to my hometown,” said Vaughn Sikorski. “I want to give this City of Champions another sport to get excited about.”

The contest will take place on Saturday, September the 18th at 10AM EST at Legends of Pittsburgh Fitness and Performance Center at the Pittsburgh Mills. Competitors will square off in 5 feats of strength and athleticism, yes, just like you see on TV, while spectators cheer on their favorite athletes. With Pittsburgh being such an amazing city, many of the events will be Pittsburgh themed around its iconic attractions.

The official USS Strongman & Current World Strongest Man Announcer will bring even more excitement, while 3 of the Judges who are renowned in the sport will draw even bigger crowds. Judges include: Ken McClelland, Pro Strongman and a Masters World Champion, George Pearson, 2019 Pro Masters Champion and 2019 Top 10 Masters Athlete and Shawn Schumacker, top 10 middleweight strongman in the world and top middleweight dead-lifter in the country. There will be vendor booths, concessions, photographers, videographers and much, much more.

This event is open to the public and these hard working athletes want a cheering crowd. Although admission is free, donations are being accepted at the door to help offset the cost of the show.

Sponsors that helped make this first-time competition possible include: Axe & Sledge Supplements, Cerberus Strength, Rivers Gives, Impact Mouthguards, Sikorski Strength, Brian Lee Studios, Jenciso Law, Athlete Recovery Lounge, Hughie’s Event Services and Legends of Pittsburgh.
