Over 15 Local Authors to Read from Their Works
The Soul Pitt to Host a Meet and Greet with Pittsburgh Local and Regional Women and Minority Authors, Publishers and Editors
Pittsburgh, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Over 15 local authors will be on hand at the “Meet the Authors” event at the Open Stage Theatre on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. to discuss and sign their books. Admission is just $10 and includes hors d’oeuvres, wine, and a raffle for prizes and books by the local authors.
This is a chance to hear readings from published works from local women and minority authors and hear advice from Grelin Press and other publishers and editors. Additionally, hear how local journalists Lamont Jones, Jr., Monica Hayes and Jasiri X have used social media promote their works online. The writings cover many genres such as non-fiction, fiction, urban, mystery, how to, inspirational, young adult, science fiction and include the following confirmed authors reading passages from their works:

Now in its third year, Soul Pitt’s “Meet the Authors” event promises to be an intellectually stimulating networking affair held in the unique setting of the Open Stage Theatre. “We are excited to be showcasing over 15 women and minority writers in this region,” said Bonita Penn, The Soul Pitt’s author events manager and host. “We are very thankful to the community for its ongoing support and pleased to offer them the opportunity to hear and meet such notable authors from Pittsburgh and some from as far as Virginia and D.C.”
