LEGACY ARTS PROJECT AFRICANA WELLNESS CONFERENCE 2022
IDENTIFYING YOUR WELL-BEING PURPOSE

PITTSBURGH, PA, March 10, 2022, (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — How can the City of Pittsburgh become a livable city for Black people/all people?  At the annual Legacy Arts Project Africana Wellness Conference on April 2, 2022 held at the Homewood YMCA at Bennett Street, Pittsburgh, PA  15208, we will explore how to do this / we will explore solutions.  This event is free and open to the public.

The issues:  Black people have always been challenged by hardships, stressors, and losses.  And the last few years have been extremely challenging.  While these kinds of adversities affect everyone, they disproportionately affect the Black community.

And in Allegheny County where the racial disparities are significant, the defined lines of racial and ethnic division are determinants to Black Americans ability to access help for their problems.
But how do we address these challenges and make Pittsburgh a more livable and healthier city for black people?

A solution:  The Legacy Arts Project third Africana focused wellness event will explore how holistic well-being combined with the arts and culture can help people cope as well as become more resilient to hardships, stressors and other life’s adversities.

This informational and interactive experience will affirm people’s ability to be self-determining in their ability to be well and to identify their well-being.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will supply attendees with resources via access to vendors, organizations and businesses that provide support, hands-on immersive activities, and references to follow-up activities.

Additionally, the Wellness Conference is a kickoff to the year-long LAP wellness campaign that will continue to address our well-being and explore how wellness is integral to creating a better world.  This includes our LAP podcast that will allow us to convey what is going on in our world.
At our event, our holistic well-being workshops explore several kinds of wellness needs/issues, review methodologies for addressing the need or issue, and provide resources to support people’s transitions to wellness.
