LOCAL NON-PROFIT PARTNERS WITH NORTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP TO PROVIDE AUTISM TRAINING TO TOWNSHIP EMPLOYEES
OAKDALE, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Local non-profit, the Autism Caring Center has partnered with North Fayette Township to provide autism training to township employees.
After receiving training in February, the North Fayette Township Board of Supervisors made the decision to schedule training with the Autism Caring Center for township employees. The first training was completed for North Fayette’s Summer Camp staff and counselors on May 17, 2022.
The Autism Caring Center recently trained North Fayette Fire Department as well. Each training will be different and specific to the department they serve.
“North Fayette is proud of our partnership with the Autism Caring Center. Kelly is passionate about the work she does, and we look forward to working with her to raise awareness in our community,” says JR Mangan, manager of North Fayette Township.
The Autism Caring Center was founded in 2017 and has since been serving southwestern Pennsylvania to help provide advocacy, training, resources to families and many other services. The non-profit also partners with local businesses to engage the community, promote awareness, acceptance, and inclusion.
“We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with ASD and the families that care for them,” says Kelly Cain, director of the Autism Caring Center. She adds, “Because most of the public is uneducated about autism, training is important for the community businesses and organizations so our families can feel supported and accepted.”
The Autism Caring Center opened the doors to its physical location in October 2021. The Center has been used to host speakers, family activities, and other events. The space is located at 7051 Steubenville Pike, Oakdale, PA 15071.
Autism Caring Center’s mission is to enhance the lives of individuals and families by working diligently to provide support, resources, advocacy and offer training to community businesses to raise awareness and acceptance.
