HUMANE ACTION PITTSBURGH JOINS THE HUMANE LEAGUE ANIMAL POLICY ALLIANCE

PITTSBURGH, PA, June 30, 2022 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Humane Action Pittsburgh today announced they’ve accepted an invitation to join the Humane League Animal Policy Alliance as a founding member.

Only 16 organizations from across the country have been extended the offer.

The alliance is entirely made up of local organizations whose public policy work focuses on animal protection and/or improvements to our food system that benefit both humans and animals.

“We need to build political and legislative power to end large-scale animal cruelty,” says Gabriel Wildgen, Director of Public Policy at The Humane League.

Additionally, Humane Action Pittsburgh’s Executive Director, Natalie Ahwesh, will be serving as a founding advisor. This role will consist of engaging in brainstorming and idea-sharing conversations online and in calls with other founding advisors and The Humane League staff. Members will meet at a summit in San Diego, California this October. This will be an opportunity for more organization leaders to get to know one another and start to share information/collaborate on public policy initiatives.

“We’re honored to be a part of this monumental step towards ending animal cruelty,” says Ahwesh. “I’m looking forward to sharing what I’ve gleaned from over a decade in animal advocacy, but even more excited to learn from the other members.”

About Humane Action Pittsburgh: Humane Action Pittsburgh is a 501(c)(3) aimed at advancing animal and environmental protections through education, policy, and community action.
