About River City Brass: The first American professional brass band to be organized in over 25 years, River City Brass made its debut in 1981. Since its founding, the band has gained admiration from audiences at home and on the road that led the group to become the most active full-time professional band in America. River City Brass offers a modern evolution of a tradition that was widespread at the turn of the 20th century in this country and is the only year-round group of its kind. RCB has enacted its mission to share American musical culture in the Pittsburgh region by being a community-focused art form, opting to perform at multiple venues in the communities where ticketholders live. The group is dedicated to presenting diverse repertoire while entertaining, educating, and engaging its audiences.
