PENN BREWERY CELEBRATES OKTOBERFEST THE WEEKENDS OF SEPTEMBER 16-18 AND 23-25!
 
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Although Penn Brewery now has a new owner, one tradition that will never change is Penn Brewery’s Oktoberfest celebration! Stefan Nitsch is pleased to announce that this year’s fest, sponsored by Arkham Realty, is slated for the weekends of September 16-18 and 23-25.
 
 “I am tremendously excited to be hosting my first Oktoberfest as Penn’s new owner,” said Nitsch.  “I’ve been attending for years as a guest and love all of the beer, music, and food that make this an annual ‘must do’ event in Pittsburgh.”
 
This year’s Oktoberfest tent menu will feature German staples including a variety of wursts – bratwurst, kielbasa, and vegan sausages – along with roasted half chickens, served with sides of sauerkraut and hot German potato salad. Soft Bavarian pretzels, potato-cheese pierogi, and strudel bites round out the outdoor menu (Complete menu and pricing attached below.)
 
Penn Oktoberfest has no cover charge, but optional VIP packages are available for an additional fee.  The three package options, which guests must purchase in advance on Penn’s website, include the following:
 
Red Star VIP – $65
•Private seating area with high top tables and bar stools
•Plastic liter stein glass
•2 stein fills with your choice of beer
•Oktoberfest Bucks – $30 toward food of your choice at the food tent
 
Blue Star VIP – $85
•Private, covered seating area
•Plastic liter stein
•2 stein fills with your choice of beer
•Oktoberfest Bucks – $30 to spend toward food of your choice at the food tent
•Private indoor restrooms
•VIP-only tap of Oktoberfest beer in tent area
 
Band VIP – $65
•Private seating area directly in front of bands
•Plastic liter stein glass
•2 stein fills with your choice of beer
•Oktoberfest Bucks – $30 to spend toward food of your choice at the food tent
 
Guests may also order an optional add-on appetizer platter with any VIP package.
 
Butcher board appetizer platters include meats, cheeses, vegetables, and bread served at your table. Pricing is $40 for a small platter, $60 for a large platter.
This year’s Oktoberfest entertainment lineup includes Heritage Band, Kevin Solecki, North Coast Mix, Mon Valley Push, the Tom Allan Duo, and Kosmix.  (A detailed entertainment schedule is included below.) Steeler Jesus and Friends will also be on hand on Saturday, September 24 at 7:00 PM.
 
Hours for Penn’s Oktoberfest are 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 9:00 PM on Sundays. On Fridays and Saturdays, only adults 21 and over are permitted after 8:00 PM. Penn will also serve a streamlined Oktoberfest menu for sit-down dining in the restaurant but will not be accepting any dining reservations during Oktoberfest weekends.
 
Penn Brewery, opened in 1986, is Pittsburgh’s oldest and largest brewery. Penn specializes in award-winning German-style craft beers, and serves traditional “Euro-Pittsburgh” fare including wurst, schnitzel, pierogi, and goulash, in its restaurants.  The Brewery is located in Deutschtown on Pittsburgh’s North Side, in the mid nineteenth-century landmark E&O Brewery Building, with a satellite location at Pittsburgh International Airport.
