TRAVEL ADVENTURES AWAIT PITTSBURGH YOUTH IN SUMMER 2023
CISV Pittsburgh’s Registration is Now Open for International and Domestic Summer Programs

PITTSBURGH, PA, January 10, 2023 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The Pittsburgh Chapter of CISV USA (formerly Children’s International Summer Village) is excited to announce its summer 2023 international programs for students ages 11-17. This year, students will have the opportunity to explore new places and create friendships with youth from around the world in Indonesia, Sweden, and Canada, or domestically in Detroit, MI, Chattanooga, TN, and Brandywine Valley, PA. The programs range from 8 days to 4 weeks, depending on the participant’s age.

“If your child is adventurous, curious about the world, inquisitive, and yearning for an experience of a lifetime, this is an opportunity not to be missed,” says Kris Pearson, volunteer and CISV Pittsburgh Board member.

Participants, traveling in small groups from Pittsburgh, will enjoy fun, age-appropriate activities, community building, and hands-on learning with other youth from around the world. Each day offers an exciting adventure into experiential activities where participants work together to solve problems. Older teens build leadership skills by planning and carrying out their group’s daily activities.

“The knowledge gained from these memory-making experiences will not only provide the opportunity for youth to explore their independence, but they also foster global friendships and encourage kids to build their leadership skills in a supportive and nurturing environment. This is not your typical summer abroad program!” Pearson says.

Milana G., now age 14, from Squirrel Hill, has traveled with CISV since she was 11 years old. Her first program in 2019 was in Calgary, Canada. In the summer of ‘22 she traveled to Quito, Ecuador. She explains, “Coming to camp is always amazing. I have made lifelong friends and learned about cultures from all over the world. CISV has helped me become more confident and outgoing.”

Applications will be accepted now through January 31st. Scholarships are available for those who qualify. To apply and/or learn more about upcoming information sessions, visit pittsburgh.cisvusa.org or email pittsburgh@cisvusa.org

MORE ABOUT CISV

Since the beginning, CISV Pittsburgh has provided more than 900 youth the opportunity to participate in life-changing  programs worldwide.
