HOLD FREE COMPUTER AND ELECTRONICS RECYCLING EVENT
The event will take place in North Way Christian Community’s parking lot and will allow residents and local business owners, those with 50 employees or less, to dispose of their unused, outdated or unwanted electronics in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
“With the passage of the Covered Recycling Device Act, everyone is required to recycle their computers, monitors and peripherals through a certified recycler,” said Serdar Bankaci, founder of Commonwealth Computer Recycling. “We are very proud to offer free and convenient access to the public. In addition, for a nominal cost we will remove customer’s hard drives and wipe them on-site.”
The state’s Covered Device Recycling Act, which took effect January 24, 2013, requires all Pennsylvania residents to recycle their computers, electronics and peripheral devices through certified recyclers. Commonwealth Computer Recycling is making the process easier by holding these free events for community members and businesses with 50 employees or fewer, providing the opportunity of disposal of computers, monitors, printers, and peripherals. Unfortunately we are unable to accept television, appliances, household batteries and items containing Freon.
After the collection, Commonwealth Computer Recycling will also provide the wiping of all memory and internal storage off devices at no cost. If visitors would like to have their hard drives destroyed onsite in front of them, the company will do so for just $10 per device.
The electronics recycling event will take place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at North Way Christian Community located at 12121 Perry Hwy (Route 19) in Wexford.
Commonwealth Computer Recycling, based in Greensburg, offers electronics recycling, data wiping and destruction, Covered Device Recycling Act compliance services and a Cash for Computer program. To learn more about the company and to access a list of recyclable items, visit http://www.ccrcyber.com.
