SEVERAL PITTSBURGH WOMEN ARE RECOGNIZED AT THE HONORING
EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN AWARD CEREMONY

Pittsburgh, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) —  The Honoring Extraordinary Women award ceremony was held on April 3, 2013, during the 5th annual Pittsburgh Entrepreneur Conference. The Women’s Small Business Association (WSBA) presented this annual event at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center, located in Greentree, Pa. The WSBA developed The Pittsburgh Entrepreneur Conference, with the intention of providing a full day of education, networking, service vendor presentations and a series of engaging speakers, specifically for small and start up business owners.

The following awards were given during the award ceremony.

  • 2013 Best Business Women in Pittsburgh
  • 2013 Community Service Award present by WSBA
  • 2013 WSBA Business Woman of the Year
All nominees for the awards were recognized and the winners were announced at the ceremony.
This year’s award winners were:

  • 2013 Best Business Women in Pittsburgh – Dr. Shellie Hipsky, Professor at Robert Morris University and Owner of Inspiring Lives.
  • 2013 Community Service Award present by WSBA – Rose Morris, Founder and Owner of Fund it Forward
  • 2013 WSBA Business Woman of the Year – Beth Egan, Owner of Healthy Homes – Healthy Families

In 2007, Susan Miller, owner of several small businesses, founded the Women’s Small Business Association. Her primary goal with the WSBA is to enable women to help other women in business.

The WSBA is a Pittsburgh based business organization that is focused on helping and stimulating small and start up businesses within the Pittsburgh region. The goal of the WSBA is to foster women’s economic independence by helping them develop skills needed for entrepreneurial success through networking and education.
