“This will be the first of many first class golf outings in support of our organizations efforts to honor the courageous individuals from Western PA” said Ronald Hunt, Sr. Vice President of Commercial Lending, FifthThird Bank and chair of the golf outing committee. “All net proceeds from the outing will go towards the costs of monuments of our outdoor Memorial” Hunt continued.
The Tuskegee Airmen Memorial (TAM) will be located at Sewickley Cemetery. When completed, in late 2013, it will be the largest outdoor memorial honoring the Tuskegee Airmen who persevered and excelled despite extreme racial discrimination and prejudice.
TAM Trustee, Ron Hunt and his committee have planned an exciting and enjoyable day of activities including breakfast, shotgun start, reception and an ultimate cook out/dinner. There will be beverages & snacks throughout the entire course, a silent auction featuring sports memorabilia, golf foursomes & getaways and many awards for individuals & teams.
Information regarding golf outing sponsorship, foursomes and individual registrations can be obtained by contacting Ronald Hunt at 412-294-5415 (office), 412-298-0045 (cell) or Ronald.hunt@53.com.
A variety of events and activities organized by the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Project will take place in Fall, 2013 including a major exhibit at Pittsburgh International Airport honoring the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, a play at the Byham theater, currently Off-Broadway and numerous other historical and educational presentations.
