THE LEGACY ARTS PROJECT PRESENTS THE 11TH DANCE AFRICA: PITTSBURGH, “MOVEMENT OF THE PEOPLE, A TALE OF TWO CONTINENTS”.
 
PITTSBURGH, PA, July 10, 2023 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The Legacy Arts Project will present the 11th Dance Africa Pittsburgh, “Movement of the People, A Tale of Two Continents”, on Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23 at the New Hazlett Theater, 6 Allegheny Square E, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. This year incorporates a festival format, sharing African cultures on the Northside. Saturday times are 3pm for show A, which explores dance of West Africa, and 7pm for Show B, which features local artists and a Haitian Dance Troupe. Sunday show times are Show B at 2pm and Show A at 5pm.
 
The Legacy Arts Project is proud to host Dance Africa: Pittsburgh for the 11th year, featuring the artistry of Malian artist, Souleymane ‘Solo’ Sana, and Haitian artist, Peniel Guerrier. Alongside the LAP Community Dance Ensemble, local performances include Sankofa Village for the Arts, Kulture Dance Academy, Nia Dance Ensemble, and K-Theatre Complex.
 
The festival features local youth and adults performing with nationally and internationally renowned dancers and musicians. Tickets range from $20-$40 and can be purchased through the LAP website at www.legacyartsproject.org. Join us for a weekend of love, peace, and respect for everyone!
