PENN BREWERY HOSTS PROST TO THE GHOST NEW FALL FESTIVAL WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 27-29!

PITTSBURGH, PA, October 24, 2023 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Penn Brewery’s new owner Stefan Nitsch is pleased to announce a new Fall Festival for the whole family the weekend of October 27-29 at the brewery.

The  Prost to the Ghost weekend will include a new beer can release every day, a new lineup of fall merchandise, firepits, s’mores, complimentary horse-drawn wagon rides, a pig roast right in the biergarten, a pumpkin carving demo, corn hole, live music all weekend from Pittsburgh’s top musicians, a kids’ scavenger hunt, some special Halloween menu items and a guest speaker from the Pittsburgh Paranormal Society to share all the spooky secrets of Penn Brewery’s haunted history!

“We’ve been working hard in the gourdroom this summer to come up with Pittsburgh’s newest fall party taking place October 27, 28 and 29th right here at 800 Vinial,” said Nitsch.  “There is so much ‘spooky’ inherent to this historic brewery, I couldn’t miss this opportunity to share with Pittsburgh the haunted history we have to offer, so a Halloween event just made sense. I’ve heard so many doors slam shut when I’m alone here at 3am it gives me great pleasure to host an event to capture the very essence  of Halloween that pervades these halls.” Nitsch is quick to add, “but that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten the kids, we’ll still have prizes and live-horses to round out the day!”

And all weekend the brewery will  have free live music from Pittsburgh’s top musicians to keep your whole family dancing. The lineup includes Byron Nash and Jacquea Mae, Elias Khouri, Al & Al, Leprosy, Bad Spirits, Pitter-A, Alex Haines, Mike Bruno, November Blue and Gary Burk III. And on Sunday, country day, national country recording artist Tim Dugger will be at the brewery in conjunction with Danger from Froggy Radio Pittsburgh with giveaways including free Penguins tickets and the newest of brewery swag!

The historic lagering caves will be on “goth mode” all weekend with the fog filling the historic biergarten. And you can enjoy it all with new beers the “booers” have been working hard on including two new pumpkin collabs made fresh with pumpkins from their friends at Soergels Orchards.

On Saturday the brewery will offer a  Festival-Exclusive Firkin-pour cave beer, and this is a special one– a smoked bourbon oak barrel beer lagered directly in the historic lagering caves, the head-brewer will tap the firkin in a brief ceremony at noon and pour it himself until it “disappears”.

And the brewery has the finest of witches brooms out already to stir the kettle to bring back everyone’s Halloween fave thirst-quencher— Soul-Sucker Ale. They are also re-releasing the Bash Brew award-winning South of Hefen. And finally a brand new Imperial Pumpkin Ale will be released – the eponymously named Prost to the Ghost, it’s a graveyard smash made right on site with their mash! The brewery can’t wait for you to prost to the ghost!

Our Penn Brewery campus here on the Northside of Pittsburgh includes nationally recognized historic structures such as the lagering cave, a cobblestone biergarten, bottling shop and more from the 1800’s, upon these grounds are the very roots of the Pennsylvania brewing industry.
