Damar Hamlin Announces Weekend of Charity Events in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA, (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Damar Hamlin has announced that his charity is hosting a series of exciting events in his hometown on June 7-9, 2024, with a focus on impacting youth and raising awareness of the importance of CPR education and training to help save lives.

Sponsors of the weekend of events include Highmark and the Allegheny Health Network, and the CPR Tour is being held in conjunction with the American Heart Association’s Nation of Lifesavers ™ initiative focused on turning bystanders into lifesavers through CPR and AED (automatic external defibrillator) education, and Juneteenth YouthFest.

Schedule of Events

Friday, June 7: 10:00 – 3:00 pm
Damar Hamlin Youth Football Camp 2024
Sto Rox High School
Youth ages 5-12 must be pre-registered and tickets have sold out. The camp is not open to the general public or for walk-ins.  Media interested in covering the event need to register.   

Saturday, June 8: 6:00 p.m.
Celebrity Basketball Game
North Allegheny High School

Sunday, June 9: 11:00 AM – 3 PM, with a 2:00 press event
Damar Hamlin’s Chasing M’s Foundation CPR Tour, with the Pittsburgh Juneteenth Youthfest 
YouthZone, Mellon Park
Damar Hamlin’s Chasing M’s Foundation is hosting a community event to offer no-cost Hands-Only CPR training provided by the American Heart Association to the public from 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.  Tickets for the public are not required. A press event will be held at 2:00 pm.   

The CPR Tour event is being held as part of the YouthFest celebration of Juneteenth, which involves a Youth Fun Zone, youth football and basketball tournaments, live entertainment, food trucks, and family activities.  For specific details about the Youthfest, go to www.stoptheviolence.com.

Sunday, June 9: 7:30 pm kickoff 
Chasing M’s vs. Jaster Athletes High School All-Star Football Game
Sto-Rox High School
This event is a tradition Hamlin has been part of for years, recognizing student-athletes who have been selected based on their accomplishments during their senior year.  Tickets are available at All Star Football Game. Proceeds from all events will go to the charity and its mission focused on youth.
