PENN BREWERY CELEBRATES OKTOBERFEST THE WEEKENDS OF SEPTEMBER 20-22, SEPTEMBER 27-29 AND OCTOBER 4-6!
 
 
PITTSBURGH, PA, August 27, 2024 (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Penn Brewery is pleased to announce the return of our annual fall tradition— Penn Brewery’s Oktoberfest celebration! Beer. Food. Music. Fun. Owner Stefan Nitsch is pleased to announce that this year’s fest is slated for the weekends of September 20-22, September 27-29 and October 4-6!.

 “I am tremendously excited to put on my Lederhosen and welcome you personally to Oktoberfest in my third year as Penn’s owner,” said Nitsch.  “I’ve been attending for years as a guest and love all of the beer, food, music and fun that make this an annual ‘must do’ event in Pittsburgh and I’m especially fired up about bringing new events this year to the ‘fest.”

This year’s Oktoberfest tent menu will feature German staples including a variety of wursts – bratwurst, kielbasa, and vegetarian sausages – along with Penn’s signature schweinebraten, served with sides of sauerkraut and hot German potato salad. Soft Bavarian pretzels, potato-cheese pierogi, and German Chocolate Cake round out the outdoor menu.

New this year on Thursday night Penn will kick off Oktoberfest with a Munich-style keg-tapping VIP party with music from the Polkamaniacs 4. Nitsch, who hails originally from Austria, said “I grew up surrounded by traditions such as this and it is my honor to bring this firkin-tapping to the people of Pittsburgh. This new event will really charge things up in a new way with the kickoff ceremony I always felt belonged at every Oktoberfest.”

Penn Brewery’s Oktoberfest has no cover charge, but optional VIP packages are available for an additional fee.  The four package options, which guests must purchase in advance on Penn’s website, including the new Sunday Family Day.

This year’s Oktoberfest entertainment lineup includes the Heritage Band, Kevin Solecki, North Coast Mix, Mon Valley Push, Tom Allen, Wally Merriman, Jack Tady Polka Band, Zolkas, and Kosmix.  Complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides, facepainting and balloon animals will be offered on Penn’s expanded Sunday Family Days.

Admission is always free. Hours for Penn’s Oktoberfest are 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 7:00 PM on Sundays.
