BALVANERA Welcomes Acclaimed Argentine Chef Julio Martin Baez to Pittsburgh
This special evening is part of BALVANERA PRESENTS—a series of culinary collaborations to celebrate Argentina’s flavors, culinary talent, and wines—created by BALVANERA Chef Owner Fernando Navas, the Official Culinary Ambassador of Argentina in the United States, as recognized by the Argentine government.
Most recently, BALVANERA hosted esteemed Chef Gonzalo Aramburu (2-star Michelin/Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurant: Aramburu) at its Pittsburgh location. And, in late October, the team will welcome Chef Julieta Caruso from Buenos Aires’ Casa Cavia to cook in both Pittsburgh and NYC.
BALVANERA Pittsburgh is open seven days a week for dinner service from 5-10pm and for weekend brunch (Saturdays and Sundays) from 11am-3pm.
ABOUT BALVANERA
BALVANERA is a destination for Argentine food and wine in the heart of NYC’s Lower East Side at 152 Stanton Street and Pittsburgh’s Strip District at 1660 Smallman Street. Developed by Chef Fernando Navas (Sushi Samba, elBulli, Nobu), Balvanera takes its name from a historic ‘barrio’, or neighborhood, of Buenos Aires where poets, musicians, and creatives once convened—also home to the city’s original meat market. Chef Navas is an official culinary ambassador of Argentina, as recognized by the Argentine Government, and his work through BALVANERA promotes the sharing of Argentine culture and cuisine in the United States.
