ABOUT BALVANERA
BALVANERA is a destination for Argentine food and wine in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Strip District community at The Terminal. The first project of Chef Fernando Navas (Sushi Samba, elBulli, Nobu), BALVANERA opened its first location in 2014 on New York City’s Lower East Side. The restaurant takes its name from a historic ‘barrio’, or neighborhood, of Buenos Aires where poets, musicians and creatives once convened; it was home to the city’s original meat market, Abasto. BALVANERA’s menu and philosophy are inspired by the nostalgia of Fernando’s Argentine roots, upbringing and the culinary culture he acquired on his journey through Buenos Aires, Barcelona and New York City.
