“The Help Thy Neighbor Walk is more than just a walk — it is a visible statement of unity and care,” said Ricardo Luckow, Executive Director, SVdP. “Every step taken helps a struggling family keep the lights on, a senior remain in their home, or a child return to school with the essentials they need. Together, we are making a direct and lasting difference in people’s lives.”
Funds raised from the Walk support community members, often families and seniors, facing urgent needs, including food, rent and utility assistance, clothing, prescriptions, and transportation. Last year, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul assisted thousands of households across the region through more than 56,000 personal interactions thanks in part to community generosity at events like this. $2.7 million was distributed to those in need during SVdP’s last fiscal year.
