The student tour aims to bridge the gap between academics and the workforce with practical application by showcasing real-world scenarios and hands-on experiences within our facilities. Students will have the chance to interact with our knowledgeable staff, witness cutting-edge technologies in action, and gain valuable insights into various roles within our organization.
During the tour, students will:
- Explore our manufacturing processes from powder to polish.
- Learn about quality control measures and safety protocols implemented in our facility.
- Engage in interactive sessions with our engineers and technicians to understand the technical aspects of our operations.
- Discover diverse career pathways available in manufacturing, including engineering, operations management, quality assurance, and more.
- Gain inspiration and motivation for pursuing careers in the trades.
Over the past five years, General Carbide has welcomed more than 125 local students through this program, resulting in 30 students securing full-time employment with the company upon graduating high school.
The Learning 2 Earning tours lead to General Carbide’s annual Signing Day, where graduating students transition into the workforce and launch their careers. This year, the company will celebrate its Fifth Annual Signing Day on May 2026.
