PENN BREWERY CELEBRATES ST. NIK WEEKEND AND LENDS A HAND TO PITTSBURGH POLICE AND SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF PENNSYLVANIA DECEMBER 6 & 7

Pittsburgh, PA
(PittsburghNewsWire.com) — All glasses will be raised when Penn Brewery hosts its traditional holiday celebration, St. Nik Weekend, Friday, December 6 through Saturday, December 7.  The restaurant is planning a full lineup of events:

Friday, December 6 – Keg Tapping and St. Nik Party

St. Nik himself will tap the first official keg of Penn Brewery’s St. Nikolaus Bock Brewer’s Reserve at 7 pm.  This award-winning beer earned a silver medal at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival® and is a perennial Penn fan favorite.

Autobahn will entertain with traditional Alpine music from 6-8 pm. Afterward, the Blues Orphans will take the stage from 8-11 pm and play their merry medley of holiday music.

Saturday, December 7 – Lunch with St. Nik & Friends and the Freeze Fundraiser for Special Olympics

Penn welcomes guests of all ages to have lunch with some special friends – Santa Claus, the Pirate Parrot, and the Washington Wild Thing – between noon and 3:30 pm.  The restaurant will offer Penn’s regular menu with a few festive holiday additions.

In the evening, Penn will team up with Pittsburgh Police from Zone 6 for the Freeze Fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.  Tickets will be sold at the door for $20 each, which covers admission, one drink ticket, light appetizers including soft pretzels, and three raffle tickets.  Local celebrities will be tending bar as guests enjoy live entertainment from Joel Lindsey Trio of Blvd. of the Allies playing from 7-10 pm, followed by a DJ to keep the music going well into the night.  Twenty percent of all dollars spent on food and beverages Saturday evening will go to Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.

The evening’s festivities will run from 6 pm to 2 am, and weather permitting, the biergarten will be open to guests.
