Pittsburgh Kids Helping Kids – TRWMG Operation Santa 2013

Pittsburgh, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Local Pittsburgh kids are banding together to help other local kids less fortunate this Christmas.  3 Rivers Wealth Management Group (TRWMG) and 3 Rivers Tax & Business Services (TRTABS), 2 locally owned businesses, are proud to sponsor their 4th annual Operation Santa, Sunday, December 15th.

Every Christmas through it’s “Bridges” not for profit support program,  3 Rivers grants the Santa Wish Lists of a number of local children in need that are serviced by Family Services of Western Pennsylvania (FSWPA).   This year 3 Rivers announced the creation of “Bridges Kids Club” which allows children to participate in the companies many service projects throughout the year.  The inaugural project for the Bridges Kids Club will be Operation Santa 2013.

43 children between the ages of 4 and 17 have signed up to participate in Operation Santa 2013.  Each child participating was asked to earn $25 to donate toward the expense of the Santa list items.  Parents were encouraged to have their children earn the $25 by doing extra chores at home or for family & neighbors, rather than the parent just donating the funding.

Each child received a letter from Santa asking them to complete a special mission and including the specific list of items and first name of a child that is a similar age and gender.  The mission instructions included; a budget for the child to spend in addition to the $25 they earned (additional funds provided by TRWMG and TRTABS), a date and time to meet at a local Toys’R’Us to shop with other Club members and an invitation to a wrapping party later that day at Bella Sera Catering, Venue, Bistro & BBQ  in Canonsburg where the kids will meet for cookies & hot chocolate to wrap the gifts they purchased.  In addition to fulfilling the Santa Wish Lists, Bridges Kids Club members are helping to collect gently used clothing items to donate to FSWPA families.

Following the shopping and wrapping party on December 15th Santa will deliver one gift for each child to the FSWPA Children’s Holiday party on December 20th, while the remainder of the gifts will be given to the children’s parents for delivery Christmas morning.
