Attorney Jacques M. Wood Launches Arbitration and Mediation Practice
JACQUES M. WOOD, EXPERIENCED EMPLOYMENT/LABOR LITIGATOR AND ADR NEUTRAL, LAUNCHES ARBITRATION AND MEDIATION PRACTICE
Immediately prior to opening his practice, Mr. Wood served 14 years as a Commissioner with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), which is the largest mediation service in the United States. As Commissioner, he mediated hundreds of labor contract and grievance disputes, EEO complaints and employment-related lawsuits.
Before accepting his appointment with FMCS, Mr. Wood practiced law for 27 years in Pittsburgh upon his graduation from Cornell University Law School. During the last 12 years of practice, he was a Shareholder in the national firm of Buchanan Ingersoll (BI) and served as Chair of its Labor and Employment Group. While at BI, Mr. Wood was peer selected as one of the best labor and employment lawyers in five editions of The Best Lawyers in America.
