Pittsburgh, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) – Let the Good Times Roll; A Music Tribute to Legendary Ray Charles on Saturday, August 21, 2010 @ 7:00 pm.

A tribute of Ray Charles’ music will be presented and performed by former Ray Charles drummer, Pittsburgh’s own jazz great Roger Humphries and his Big Band, featuring vocal sensation D. C. Chandler. Hosted by Bob Studebaker from WDUQ
This spectacular event titled ‘Let the Good Times Roll’ will take place at the Richard E. Rauh Theater at Shady Side Academy’s Hillman Center for Performing Arts in Fox Chapel on Saturday, August 21st @ 7:00 pm.

Roger has played with such greats as Stanley Turrentine, The Horace Silver Quintet and Shirley Scott just to name a few.  Ray Charles was known as the genius and the father of soul music.  He combines worlds as diverse as country and western, jazz, R&B, blues and gospel.  Some of Ray’s greatest hits include Hit the Road Jack, I Can’t Stop Loving You, What’d I Say and Georgia on My Mind.

Just turn on your radio and you will hear the influence of Ray’s ground breaking music.  Ray Charles would have celebrated his 80th birthday this year and special events are taking place all across the United States.
