3RD ANNUAL WOMEN WHO ROCK BENEFIT™ CONCERT
EXPANDS TO NEW VENUE STAGE AE
Women in Music Unite to Rock the Future of Women’s Health
Date: Thursday, May 30, 2019
Location: Stage AE 400 N Shore Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15212
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The 3rd Annual Women who Rock Benefit Concert will take place on Thursday, May 30th, 2019 during Women’s Health Month at Stage AE. In 2018, Women who Rock experienced over a 400% growth and raised over $26,000 for women’s health research benefiting Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI).
Women who Rock Pittsburgh will be emceed by the legendary rock DJ Michele Michaels of 102.5FM WDVE, and will feature live performances from an all-female fronted music lineup, showcasing the best local and national talent. The full artist lineup will be announced in February.
An event experience like no other, Women who Rock also presents the “Women who Rock Award” honoring one outstanding woman making a difference in her community, and will kick off the 2019 “Rising Star” contest in February, which empowers the next generation of female singer-songwriters. Women who Rock will once again present the “Beauty Bar” on-site at the concert, featuring exclusive beauty perks for all concert attendees.
Recent statistics about women in music and women’s health research show the gender disparity in both fields. Zero women have won a Grammy for producer of the year and women’s health research remains underrepresented.
Proceeds from the Women who Rock Benefit Concert support Magee-Womens Research Institute, the largest research institute in the U.S. focused solely on women’s and infants’ health. More than 100 nationally recognized physician-scientists are engaged in groundbreaking research spanning diverse aspects of women’s health. Proceeds from Women who Rock Pittsburgh will be used to support world class women’s and infants’ health research through Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation’s campaign and will be designated to the Board Strategic Direction Fund (Fund #23001) for the Board of Directors to provide resources as needed.
A limited number of sponsorships are still available for the 2019 Pittsburgh Benefit Concert. These sponsorships include a powerful cause-marketing campaign, celebrity and social influencer involvement, experiential activations in the exciting environment of a live music event, custom content, PR and additional custom benefits.
