TWO POPULAR RESTAURANTS AVAILABLE FOR SALE

PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Specialty Group has been serving the bar and restaurant industry since 1986, and whether it is in Pittsburgh’s Strip District or the Cultural District, our restaurants are feeling the effects of this “new normal”- if we can even call it “normal”. Operating a business day-by-day or even hour-by-hour with the uncertainty of restrictions on the restaurant industry is taking its toll on not only on new restaurant owners, but our long-time veterans as well.

In the Cultural District, Takis Kontoulis, Owner of Salonika’s Bar & Grill, has been contemplating retiring for a little while. After 34 years of serving gyros and Greek favorites at this restaurant/bar on 6th Avenue, and with the challenges he has faced due to the pandemic, his decision became clearer to hang up his apron. Terri Sokoloff, President of Specialty Bar & Restaurant Brokers, whose company originally placed the liquor license thirty years ago, commented “this is an unfortunate exit situation, but I understand”. The space is ideal well set up for takeout with an open kitchen, New York style deli, and separate bar and restaurant area. He is still operating.

Moving into the Strip District, Chef/Owner Vincent Perri’s dream was to have his own brick-and-mortar location following time perfecting his concept at locations in both the Smallman Galley & Federal Galley. Sokoloff met with Vince and his wife Candice sixteen months ago and found the perfect location at 1211 Penn Avenue. They opened last August, and as time passed, they began to create presence in the Pittsburgh Restaurant Scene. Once COVID-19 closed down bars/restaurants, they had no choice but to close their doors because of the challenges adapting the restaurant to constant last-minute mandates and orders received from the government. The Perri’s have decided to put the restaurant on the market with Specialty Group to explore all options.
