ALLEGHENY INTERMEDIATE UNIT ADDS NEW WORD GAMES TO
ESL (ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE) FOR TEACHERS TO DEPLOY

PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Devoid of screens, The Final Word — an ever-expanding collection of word games — keeps players on their toes through the dynamic way the games are played — disrupting most pre-planning by players and instigating quick, strategic thinking at every turn.

After a demonstration of some of the various word games played with this single deck of cards, a representative of AIU saw the value in adding this interesting, challenging and fun package to engage students in a unique way.

The more than two dozen games already developed include games of solitaire as well as games for up to 6 players. Portable, family-friendly and multi-generational, The Final Word games can be played side-by-side on bleachers while other games rally players to their feet to cast cards that spread across a dining room table.

AIU is the third educational institution to embrace The Final Word for its ingenuity in utilizing the love of games to enhance spelling, vocabulary, abstract thinking and simple math skills. The game has also been embraced by word game aficionados locally.

The creator of The Final Word is Pittsburgh native and CMU graduate, Faye Klein, who continues to conjure up new games to play that are distributed to those who have purchased The Final Word. The Final Word was also a finalist in the 2017 Best Toys and Games competition on edisonnation.com.
