3RD ANNUAL SWAG AWARDS CALL FOR NOMINATIONS IS OPEN THROUGH OCTOBER 7
Nominate a social worker in the Pittsburgh region who goes above and beyond the call of duty.

PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — We are excited to announce that the SWAG (Social Worker Appreciation of Greatness) Awards call for nominations is open. The SWAG Awards is a project of Vitamin C Healing, a professional organization dedicated to serving those in the helping professions suffering from compassion fatigue and burnout. The awards were created specifically to honor both historical African American social workers during Black History Month and local social workers during National Social Work Month.

Because of the pandemic, the 2020 awards were shifted to a virtual ceremony in 2021 that honored 21 amazing individuals committed to “heart work.”

The SWAG Awards were created to honor extraordinary social workers in the Pittsburgh region. For the 3rd annual SWAG Awards, we will honor seven awardees who have exhibited excellence in the field of social work during a global health crisis that has had far-reaching effects on vulnerable populations in the western Pennsylvania region. If you know a social worker who upholds the core social work values of social justice, service, competence, dignity and worth of the person, and importance of human relationships, show your appreciation by nominating him or her today.

The event will be held on March 25, 2023, in honor of National Social Work Month at the Hosanna House. For more information about the SWAG Awards, please contact founder Sharise Nance.
