Pittsburgh, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — The Gentlemen Sing: Three Generations of Song featuring Allan Harris and Ernie Andrews is missing its next generation singer. MCG Jazz invited young male jazz vocalists, ages 18 to 35, to submit resumes and videos and compete to win the ultimate prize: a live concert appearance at MCG Jazz on February 28, 2014 with Pittsburgher Allan Harris and Jazz Master Ernie Andrews.
Three finalists – Tak Iwasaki from New York, Milton Suggs, originally from Chicago but currently living in New York City and Pittsburgher Benny Benack III – will perform at a live sing-off at Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild on the North Side on Sunday, December 15, at 2:30pm.
So come cheer on your favorite singer and our esteemed judges: Pittsburgh’s own Allan Harris and Etta Cox and the legendary Freddy Cole, who will be in town having performed with the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra at Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild the night before (Saturday, December 14).
The live finals concert is this Sunday, December 15, at 2:30 pm. It’s free but reservations are recommended for seating. Visit MCG Jazz.org or call 412.322.0800 to make your reservation today.
