SCHOOL VIOLENCE PREVENTION PROGRAM ANNOUNCED
Monaca, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — A comprehensive school safety and security program was announced today by Louis Gentile, President of CSI Corporate Security & Investigations.
The Sensible Solutions program provides school districts with a program that evaluates current policies and procedures; analyzes facilities and campus structures; provides a school safety curriculum and training in threat assessment and violence mitigation; and outlines a “blueprint” for action.
Developed by a veteran team of academic, law enforcement and criminal justice professionals, Sensible Solutions offers a school officials one of the country’s first multifaceted, holistic approaches to school safety and security that seeks to address environmental factors before they become a problem.
“Since the tragic events at Sandy Hook there have been over 74 acts of violence in U.S. schools. The recent stabbings at Franklin Regional prove that Western PA is not immune from such violent actions. While we shouldn’t needlessly scare our children, parents and teachers the possibility of violence at one of our schools is no longer something that we can ignore,” Gentile said.
Gentile notes, “Although it may be impossible to stop all violent activity from happening there are many ways we can be prepared in the event that violence does take place”.
