Hampton Township Student, Reid Burger, Releases First Book At Age Of Nine
A bright, energetic boy, Reid started writing the initial pages of this piece while at his younger brother’s T-ball game last summer. “I was bored, so I started writing a story,” he explains. “I was inspired to write it by a mystery that our librarian read to us in school.” Reid’s parents, Joe and Janie Burger, affirm that he has been creating since the day he was born, so they are thrilled for Reid to see one of his works turned into a “real” book.
About the book: Scribble is a fun-loving dog who likes mysteries and learning new things. In this story, Scribble’s neighbor presents him with a mystery, and Scribble wants to solve it. Scribble’s search takes young readers on a trip to his school and public libraries as the readers share his journey and learn some other things on their way while trying to solve the mystery as various clues are uncovered along the way.
Creating since the age of two, Reid enjoys making arts & crafts. He is excited about seeing his work in print and has since written other tales that he hopes to publish. Reid is currently taking piano lessons and attends an after-school Lego building camp. He also enjoys playing with his two brothers, Noah and Marshall, to whom Reid dedicated this first book.
Reid is available for book signings and local interviews. Published through online self-publisher, CreateSpace, Mr. Scratch’s Secret is a 26-page book that retails for $9.49 and can be purchased directly at the publisher’s e-store www.createspace.com/3390641 or through Amazon, bookstores, and libraries.
