WOMEN WHO ROCK™ IN COLLABORATION WITH POINT PARK UNIVERSITY ROWLAND SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND PIONEER RECORDS ANNOUNCE CONTEST
PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) — Women Who Rock™, an organization focused on empowering and educating Women in Music, is partnering with Point Park University Rowland School of Business and Pioneer Records to showcase one female musician at the 2nd Annual Women Who Rock Benefit Concert. Point Park students had the chance to submit their music during the month of February. The top 3 finalists will then perform at the Pittsburgh iHeart Media stage, where the winner will be selected this March.
Women Who Rock will take place on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh and features Pittsburgh’s best female musicians. Proceeds from the evening benefit Magee-Womens Research Institute, the largest research institute in the U.S. devoted exclusively to women’s health research. The evening will be emceed by the legendary rock DJ Michele Michaels from 102.5 FM WDVE.

Pioneer Records is a student-run record label based out of Point Park University’s Rowland School of Business and its Sports, Arts and Entertainment Management Program. The label is equipped with booking, marketing, operations, and multi-media departments all of which work to create a successful brand for the artist, while allowing students to gain real-world, professional experience.
